Fore Sistas is a volunteer service organization of women committed to the expansion and inclusion of talented women in the sport and the business of golf through linked friendship, financial support, equity and inclusion.

We share a passion for playing golf and for supporting charitable causes — seeking out talented young amateur female golfers who need financial support to excel in the sport.

Our story

It started with three friends and a tee time.

Fore Sistas was founded by Phyllis Gillespie, Esq., Jean Laws-Scott, Martha Clark, Debra Williams and Lynn Solomon out of a shared passion for golf and a desire to make a meaningful impact.

“I started playing with Lynn and Martha just for fun. As we played, I noticed women of color on the course and started collecting phone numbers and emails.” — Phyllis Gillespie

That list became a GroupMe that now connects more than 80 women, from beginners to exceptional players. Our inaugural tournament in January 2022 was a resounding success, and every tournament since has welcomed more golfers, sponsors and friends.
